With the arrest and deportation of French lawyer William Bourdon who is acting for an NGO, Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram) had deliberately shown that the BN federal government is working round the clock to ensure that the purchase of the two Scorpene submarines by Najib Razak does not turn into an official scandal which could force him to resign as prime minister if the truth were to exposed. The swift arrest and deportation were ordered by the home ministry just after Bourdon arrived at KLIA airport recently from Penang, who had earlier briefed the people in that state on the invitation of Suaram Penang. The royal commission of inquiry reported today Teoh Beng Hock was broken by three senior investigation officers it referred to as “Arman the bully, Ashraf the abuser and Hishammuddin Hashim the arrogant leader.” It also concluded that most MACC officers in its Selangor office were prone to lying. After tremendous public pressure for so many days, only then the police announced today that its personnel really did fired tear gas and chemical based water cannons into the Tung Shin Hospital during the recently concluded Bersih 2.0 rally. However, the police's admission on the hospital attack was merely a "by the side" noting and not a full yes on it. This means, the police top brass were not sincere enough in telling the people the truth. Prior to today's announcement, the police force had continuously denied any involvement of its personnel in attacking the hospital with tear gas and chemical based water cannon citing that it was merely passing by the hospital's front compound. Despite so many witnesses came forward to confirm that Tung Shin Hospital has been deliberately attacked by the police water cannons and tear gas, health minister and MCA deputy president Liow Tiong Lai continue to deny all those charges. And he called on the members of the board of Tung Shin Hospital to come to his press conference to blatantly deny all those charges. Of course those hospital board members would have to follow his order, failing which the fate of the hospital would be in jeopardy. The hospital's operating license would be revoked if the board members were to refuse cooperation. First, we heard of a very high and expensive commission being paid to a local agent Primekar Sdn Bhd (all of us should know who is the owner of this company by now) for the purchase of two secondhand defective submarines by the government during Najib Razak's reign as defense minister. Well, nothing much we could do on that as the BN government had refused to reveal the full details of the purchase transaction and had deliberately used the Official Secrets Act (OSA) and other law to protect itself from public scrutiny. The Bersih 2.0 Rally in Kuala Lumpur is now on. Congratulations to the Bersih 2.0 steering committee, leaders of non-governmental organizations (NGOs), leaders of Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM), leaders of Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM), leaders of Pakatan Rakyat who had all came together as a team to ensure the success of this afternoon's rally. It is very, very clear that Bersih 2.0, the organizers and our people has been cheated by the prime minister and Umno president Najib Razak. In his earlier statement about a week ago, Najib deliberately boosted that there is no need for Bersih 2.0 to rally in the streets as it will disrupt businesses and traffic in the city, so he proposed that Bersih 2.0 could choose any stadium they like and shout it out from inside the stadium. Then, when Bersih 2.0 decided to call off its planned street rally which is scheduled to be held tomorrow and offer itself to be place inside the stadium, Najib decided to run away from his promises and pass the buck to his home minister and Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein to handle the situation. Last Friday, we saw about more than 300 members and supporters from Umno, Perkasa, Perkida, Pembela and an unregistred NGO named Suara Anak-anak Malaysia held a massive and violent demonstration in downtown George Town that afternoon, which brought the entire city to a standstill, to protest against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and the state's support Bersih 2.0 to be held on 9 July 2011. The home affairs ministry (KDN) had recently issued a ban on Bersih, an acronym for Gabungan Pilihanraya Bersih dan Adil citing that the "organization" is not registered and therefore it is illegal. We doubt the actions made by the ministry was even in accordance to the Societies Act. KDN had in fact failed to understand what was the movement of Bersih and who were those behind the initiation of Bersih. Bersih is not an organization at all.
