BN government insist of building a nuclear plant

Despite seeing the experience of the Japanese nuclear disaster following the recent earthquake and the deadly tsunami, the BN federal government insist of going on with its plan to build a nuclear plant in Malaysia.

If the Japanese cannot contain such disaster even with its high-tech equipments and technologies, what would happen if such disaster happens in Malaysia if one of its nuke plants blow up?

We are not talking about earthquakes may happen in Malaysia, but our grave concerns are those shoddy constructions of buildings here, like the collapse of a stadium, collapse of some newly constructed government office buildings, poor workmanship of public sites, and lastly popular corrupt practices, would we ever dare to accept the fact that a nuclear plant would be build in Malaysia?

Certainly no! We doubt this proposed nuclear plant would be constructed in a professional manner. With corruption and power abuse still on top of the BN federal government's subject, we also doubt that they would have the best ever expertise to manage the nuclear reactors in Malaysia.

What if an accident occurs in the nuclear plant here? The BN ministers would not have to worry too much. If radiation spreads, they will just move their families and cronies elsewhere and in the end, we are the ones who are going to suffer from these poisonous and killer exposure.

If BN still resist our people's protests against the proposed nuclear plant and wants to go ahead with its plan, we would suggest they construct it at Putrajaya first, maybe a trial one would better to be constructed at the backyards of Seri Perdana or Muhyiddin's official residence.

Come on! 1Malaysia "rakyat didahulukan", isn't it?

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Singapore Malay daily teaches Mahathir about hardwork

The former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assumption that Malays in Singapore had failed and their neighbouring Malays should take lesson from their plight has not impressed a Singaporean daily.
