MCA president said no need for RCI to probe Teoh's death anymore

MCA president Datuk Dr Chua Soi Lek had recently echoed that there is no need for a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) to investigate the murder of a Selangor state executive councillor's political aide Teoh Beng Hock.

We could recall, that during the funeral of Teoh Beng Hock about more than a year ago, MCA as well as the leaders of other BN component parties visited and paid their last respects to Teoh's family promising them that they will push for the establishment of a royal commission of inquiry to investigate Teoh's death at the MACC headquarters and to seek justice for him and his family.

And now, Dr Chua reversed his party's pledge and promises by saying that the RCI was not needed anymore to investigate Teoh's death. He thinks that everyone of us had forgotten what the BN leaders particularly from Umno, MCA and Gerakan had pledged on that very day.

First Najib promised that the magistrate's inquest would not take a year to settle the case and identify the murderers, then he said if the inquest fails to prove anything, he would come out with RCI to further seek justice. Leaders of MCA and Gerakan too offered their pledges to push for the RCI to investigate the death.

Where is Najib? Isn't he is going to explain why had the inquest failed and why didn't he establish the RCI to investigate Teoh's death as promised? Why has Najib dispatched his MCA running dog by the name of Dr Chua Soi Lek instead, to inform the press that the RCI on Teoh's death is no longer required? No guts to face the people. That is the answer!

There is nothing to be politicized at. Teoh's death has not been politicised by his family nor anybody from Pakatan Rakyat. The question from the people here is Where Is Justice? So, with Umno and BN still in power, justice is crumbling.

This is what everyone of us want. Everyone, from Teoh's family members, Teoh's friends, Teoh's employers, the entire Selangor state government, PKR, DAP, PAS, PSM, Suaram, Aliran and the other NGOs, as well as all ordinary citizens of Malaysia want to see Justice for Teoh Beng Hock.

But under 1Malaysia program, the late Teoh Beng Hock would never get justice over his murder. The murderers in the MACC shall always be free out there to commit yet another murder onto his next victim.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Federal Constitution that Safeguards the Legitimate Rights and Interest of All Malaysians

The provisions of the Federal Constitution are very clear. It confirmed the position of the Malay Rulers, Islam as an official religion of the federation and special position of the Malays and the natives in Sabah and Sarawak whilst recalling that those provisions balance those special positions with safeguards to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the other communities in Malaysia which also includes their right to profess and practice their religions freely without being fear of any threats or being harmed by anybody. The legitimate interests of the non-Malays and non-Muslims would include, amongst others: a) Article 153 (9) says that business or trade cannot be solely reserved only for the Malays, b) Article 3 (1) says that the official religion of the federation is Islam BUT other religions are also allowed to be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the federation.
