Is Gerakan really multiracial?

Recently, a Penang based Gerakan divisional chief had openly condemned DAP for its window dressing multiracial stature in the party, further alleged that Malay leader who are at the leadership hierarchy are merely for show. What is the big fuss over here? Gerakan wanted to claim that they are more multiracial than DAP?

First of all, is Gerakan really that multiracial as claimed by its leadership? We doubt that certainly. According to that Gerakan divisional leader, Malays in the DAP are merely for window dressing. What about Gerakan? Are there any Malays in Gerakan's line-up? The answer is No! What about Indian representatives? Yes, there are only a few of them? We could also say the Indian members in Gerakan are also mere window dressing.

About 95 percent of the branch chairmen in Gerakan nationwide are Chinese. State leadership, we cannot see any of those non-Chinese who are really leading role actively and outspoken against racism. At the divisional level, maybe there are a few but most of them are certainly for "window dressing" as well, because they do not stand out to speak.

As Gerakan is still a component member of the Barisan Nasional (BN), why don't they pick on Umno, MCA and MIC who are truly racist parties? What about picking on PPP too? Although PPP claimed to be multiracial, but its majority are Indian members. Most of their leaders are also Indians. The SUPP in Sarawak who also claimed to be multiracial but Chinese-dominated. Pick on them too!

If Gerakan is really multiracial as claimed all the time, clean up your own backyard (BN) first. Go after the extreme one especially Umno and then MCA, MIC in order to prove you walk the talk. What about Ketuanan Melayu in BN? Why is Gerakan is so quiet on this? The frequent racist attacks made by Umno against other races and communities. Gerakan is so quiet because they are too afraid to voice out against the BN dominant party for fear of being expelled from the coalition.

We wish to advise Gerakan, look at your own mirror first before you talk about others.
