Auditor-General's Report says all. Why no action?

The recent report made by the Auditor-General has been released. The report was actually being withheld from being released to the members of parliament. It was only released at the last minute when members of parliament complained of not getting the copies in time for their study and review.

The Auditor-General's report had mentioned everything, from the various power abuses, mismanagement, corruption, missing funds, disbursement of allocations to shopping sprees. What next? Why hasn't the prime minister take the report seriously and initiate the necessary actions in order to curb such negative elements as soon as possible? Why isn't the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) take their initiatives to step in and take whatever action they could according to the law to book all those culprits to the law?

MACC would definitely respond by saying that no report has been lodged and therefore an investigation file could not be opened to address all those misdeeds. So, is the MACC really an independent corruption buster like the one from Hong Kong, Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC)?  Since its upgrade into a commission-level, the MACC has longed to become a high-flying corruption buster like ICAC by outlining their various plans and proposals. But, did the MACC really implement or enforce all those particular subjects which are in their mind?

Nothing yet to-date. It is just still in their mind awaiting someone from the top up there, particularly the prime minister, to give his green light. Why? If the MACC proceed with its dream to get rid of all these corrupt practice in this country, particular in the civil service as well, many of those involved, particularly from Umno will be rooted out, put on trial and imprisoned for all their decades of misdeeds. If such thing happens, Umno would eventually lose its credibility to rule this country, come next, they will even lose their government seat in a more painful manner, should the general elections is called.

So, exactly what is the prime minister is trying to do now on the recent Auditor-General's report? He is certainly feeling the heat and embarrassment that he has to face with. Next, he and his ministers would go down to the bottom to find someone unimportant from both the party and civil service, so they could turn these scapegoats in as the "actual culprits", then inform the general public that they are doing whatever they can to stamp out corruption within their ranks.

In the end of the day, only those small ones are being caught while all the big fish will eventually escaped into the bushes. Is this call "action taken"? Such moves are merely a cover-up or should we say window dressing. Then, the prime minister or any of his guys would give a statement to the public by repeating the same old words "no governments are perfect at all" as the reason for the continuous corruption and mismanagement within the administration.

Take for instance, we give you the simplest example of all. The New Economic Policy (NEP) or in Malay language which is mentioned as Dasar Ekonomi Baru (DEB) has been implemented with the sole aim to help and uplift the economic livelihood of the Malay community decades ago. But has the DEB policy achieve anything till today? Umno would say it has, but if it has so, why are they millions in the community still suffer from poverty, illiteracy, lack of food, no electricity, no roads or any other basics? Why is the crime rate within this community had risen? Why only those elites linked to Umno got rich while no ordinary Malays enjoy the same?

What has Umno done with the implementation of DEB? In its hand, it emerge a new elite group called Bangsawan Melayu which had far swayed from the actual roots of the Malay community.

We are not going to prolong this subject. The only thing that the people ought to be reminded is, as long as Umno or BN continue to rule this nation, power abuse, mismanagement, corruption will never end, as they had no political will to get rid of it because such move would eventually affect their cronies and allies within the current economic structure.

In this case, would you believe what the prime minister had said earlier, "if Pakatan takes over Putrajaya, they would bankrupt the entire nation"??? The fact that is, this country is already bankrupt. They are now working very hard to empty the nation's coffers before the next general elections is due.
