Don't act like a coward, Umno told

After getting the Selangor state executive councillor and State DAP Chairman Teressa Kok detained in the Internal Security Act (ISA) for alleging that she had instructed mosques in her constituency not to sound the azan during prayers, Umno is now trying to get the Penang chief minister and DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng into the same condition.

When the Jabatan Hal-ehwal Agama Islam Pulau Pinang (JHEAIPP) decided to issue a Fatwa in accordance to the Islamic teachings, to all mosques in the state instructing them to lower their tones and loud speakers when reciting the Quran verses, Umno vice-president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is quick to jump into the extremist wagon by claiming that the Penang chief minister had a say in the recent JHEAIPP Fatwa.

We supposed the Umno vice-president who is also the former head of the Penang Umno state liaison committee is suffering from a most severe brain damage. And so does all the state Umno leader there. So are very sick while the rest are so coward or overly coward. If you are in politics, then act like real politicians, instead of hiding behind the religious curtains claiming that you are the champion of Islam.

Ahmad Zahid is also not qualified at all to talk about Islamic matters. We question the validity of his doctorate which he claimed to have obtained from a prestigious university. Who know, it is from another first floor shoplot based unqualified college somewhere in Europe or the Americas.

Everyone knows that both the JHEAIPP and the Majlis Agama Islam Pulau Pinang (MAIPP) appointments and functions are under the jurisdiction of the federal government and the Yang Dipertuan Agong. Even the state government does not have any powers at all to interfere in the affairs and matters which are currently being managed by these two JHEAIPP and MAIPP themselves.

So is Ahmad Zahid and the other Umno leaders trying to convict Guan Eng so that the home ministry would have a case against him to have him detain under the ISA?

Come on Umno leaders, do not act like an insane coward please. If you are politically bankrupt, then keep your mouth shut. Do not take in Islam as one of your political fight. You are all not even qualify to speak on Islam let there be so many real "murtads" in Umno lately. They do not actually follow the teachings and guidance of Islam. That is why they would become overly zealous, extreme and more ever violent racists full of hate, hate, hate and nothing else but only hate in their mind.

Umno leader hated everyone around them. Even BN component parties, like MCA, MIC, PBS, Gerakan, PPP, SUPP and PRS are not spared.

Making such allegation by saying the Penang state government and Guan Eng had a say in the recently issued Fatwa on the Azan sounds in the state clearly shows that these Umno leaders are not really Muslims themselves. What prove or evidence does these Umno leaders, especially Ahmad Zahid has to show that Guan Eng and DAP are sitting in the boards of JHEAIPP and MAIPP issuing their instructions?

Umno, you all are real cowards, hiding behind Islam and created a lots of confusion in the Muslims community.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Federal Constitution that Safeguards the Legitimate Rights and Interest of All Malaysians

The provisions of the Federal Constitution are very clear. It confirmed the position of the Malay Rulers, Islam as an official religion of the federation and special position of the Malays and the natives in Sabah and Sarawak whilst recalling that those provisions balance those special positions with safeguards to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the other communities in Malaysia which also includes their right to profess and practice their religions freely without being fear of any threats or being harmed by anybody. The legitimate interests of the non-Malays and non-Muslims would include, amongst others: a) Article 153 (9) says that business or trade cannot be solely reserved only for the Malays, b) Article 3 (1) says that the official religion of the federation is Islam BUT other religions are also allowed to be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the federation.
