Why BN Umno resorts to barbaric type of banners and campaigns?

Before we start off with it, we want to repeat our question which we had been asking before, on and on. Why is BN always resorting to barbaric type of banners to campaign, expressing their hate towards others and depicting other races as low class? What is so great about BN and Umno anyway?

A campaign banner that stood out from the BN and Umno entourage to the nomination centre for the Hulu Selangor by-election here yesterday was one that depicted top leaders of PKR as pigs.

This particular banner attracted the attention of many not only because it was so unconventional, it was also because the big pictorial banner was being hoisted at the forefront of the procession by the BN group, led by none other than the UMNO Youth leaders.

In the BN coalition, all the Umno leaders used to repeatedly view themselves as a coalition of multiracial political parties aiming at achieving "national unity and equality" but what are shown and demonstrated so recently does not even prove that they are for what they are now saying, 1Malaysia concept.

They are not even standing by their 1Malaysia concept at all. These Umno leaders, particularly the out of control youth ones are only interested in raising their racist political jargon, instill hatred and violent characteristics in order to depict their supreme stature, strength, power and their so-called "bangsawan" status.

These tactics are indeed completely uncivilized, undemocratic and of a real low class act.

We remember, that just one day before the nomination, the Election Commission (EC) had issued a statement calling all political parties to refrain from putting up banners which have no connection with the elections campaign.

Does EC's instruction only refers to PKR and Umno was exempted from this order? This banner is very seditious and why isn't the police there to arrest these culprits on the spot? The answer is because the home affairs minister who is also the Umno vice president Hishammuddin Hussein had already told the police not to do so.

This means BN and Umno had actually already lost the election and that is why they use the pig as their campaign subject because they do not have anymore topics in hand to attract the voters back into their fold. They are frustrated, confused and lost.

They cannot eat, drink or sleep, they wanted revenge, they wanted to resolve the situation with violence, hate and war, because they knew they cannot win anymore.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Federal Constitution that Safeguards the Legitimate Rights and Interest of All Malaysians

The provisions of the Federal Constitution are very clear. It confirmed the position of the Malay Rulers, Islam as an official religion of the federation and special position of the Malays and the natives in Sabah and Sarawak whilst recalling that those provisions balance those special positions with safeguards to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the other communities in Malaysia which also includes their right to profess and practice their religions freely without being fear of any threats or being harmed by anybody. The legitimate interests of the non-Malays and non-Muslims would include, amongst others: a) Article 153 (9) says that business or trade cannot be solely reserved only for the Malays, b) Article 3 (1) says that the official religion of the federation is Islam BUT other religions are also allowed to be practiced in peace and harmony in any part of the federation.
