Penang Pesta Open Dragon Boat Race
Date: 12th and 13th December 2009. 9am to 6pm.
Location: Bandar Sri Pinang, Jelutong Expressway.
For the first time in our 30 years history, our Penang Dragon Boat Race will be held at Bandar Sri Pinang, Jelutong Expressway.
27 teams from Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Malaysia will be taking part in the Men, Women & Junior races for 200 meter, 500 meter and 1,000 meter categories.
Do join us at the promenade and enjoy 2 days of thrill and suspense as we expect this race to be a close race among the teams.
Pesta Chess League
Date: 12th to 13th December 2009
Location: Dewan Sri Pinang
In conjunction with the Pesta Pulau Pinang, the Pesta Chess League will be played at the Dewan Sri Pinang, Penang, from Dec 12-13.
This event is open to teams from the public sector, factories, institutions of learning, the business community as well as societies and clubs.
Entry fees are RM120 for the open category, RM90 for under-18 teams and RM60 for under-12 teams. Closing date for entries is Dec 10.
Pesta Beach Volleyball Championship
Date: 12th and 13th Dec 2009.
Venue: Golden Sands Resort, Batu Ferringhi
Teams from Thailand and all over Malaysia are participating in this Championship which will be held on 12th and 13th December 2009 at the beach front of Golden Sands Resort, Batu Ferringhi, Penang.
The preliminary rounds will be played on Sat, 12th from 9.00am to 5pm and Semi-finals (9.00am – 11am) and Finals (3pm-5pm) on Sun, 13th December 2009.
Star Walk 2009
Date: 13th Dec 2009
Venue: PISA (Penang International Sports Arena)
An Annual event by Star Publications (M) Bhd with the objective to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Penang Starwalk 2009 is divided into competition and non-competition categories with both covering 10km.
Competition walkers will be flagged off at 7am by Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas from the Penang Inter-national Sports Arena (Jalan Mahsuri) while non-competition walkers will start at 7.30am from SMK Raja Tun Uda (Jalan Tengah).
