The year-end party mood in Penang has set in with Chingay and Lion Dance troupe members displaying their skills in balancing the stilt poles for the annual performance.

This Parade is an annual street parade held in Penang. Today, the parade has evolved into a massive multi-cultural and international event.

Penang Pesta Open Dragon Boat Race

Date: 12th and 13th December 2009. 9am to 6pm.
Location: Bandar Sri Pinang, Jelutong Expressway.

This weekend promises to be an action packed one, and an action packed one it will be! The Penang Pesta Open Dragon Boat Race, highlights the pounding of the drums, one at each boat, spurs the rowers as the 27 teams strive to compete each other for a race that is expected to be neck to neck until the very end.

Come witness as the teams from Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Philippines, Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Melaka, Kedah and Penang take on the challenge to compete each other at the Bandar Sri Pinang promenade!

37th Penang Pesta International Bowling Championships

Date: 19th to 26th December 2009.
Location: Prai Megalanes, Mega Mall

World Cup champion Caroline Lagrange of Canada has given the thumbs up to participate in the 37th Penang Pesta International Bowling Championships at the Prai Megalanes from Dec 19-26.

Besides Lagrange, Germany’s Tina Hulsch and Holland’s Wendy Kok, who also featured in the recent World Cup in Malacca, have also confirmed their participation in the Penang tournament.
