Perikatan MPs to lead all GLCs. A typical Get-Rich Scheme?

Recently, PAS secretary-general and minister in the prime minister’s department in charge of law, Takiyuddin Hassan had given his assurance that all Perikatan Nasional MPs who did not join the cabinet will be appointed to lead all the government-linked-companies (GLC). All incumbent heads of GLC and agencies will be terminated as soon as possible to make way for these rebel government MPs to take over.

Here you go, one after another chairmen and heads of GLC who were not at all political appointees but from professional backgrounds were sacked or terminated systematically to allow rebel government MPs to assume these positions. It has been highlighted that the process of terminating these incumbents has started as early as end of March last month.

What we have seen today is most of the rebel government MPs do not possess relevant experience to head all these GLCs. When comes to professional management and making business decisions in these GLCs are they well-versed in such or are they really possessing sufficient knowledge to carry out their roles and responsibilities as heads of these GLCs?

According to a senior PAS leader last week, defending the appointment of rebel government MPs to head these GLCs, the purpose of putting these MPs to head the GLCs is to ensure the activities are being monitored and they can report the progress of these GLCs in the parliament during parliamentary questions.

Just what exactly does the PAS leader mean by monitoring the GLC activities? Can all those MPs, who are mostly neither without business nor professional experience able to carry out an effective monitoring on those GLCs? We doubt that. The only thing they will do is to attend its meeting, listening to briefings, give a few political statements and sign off documents and expenditures, that’s it. The other thing these MPs will do, are definitely bringing in all their “contacts” and cronies to take up whatever contracts available in these GLCs and these MPs will eventually get their “rewards” in return of giving them those contracts or businesses.

Once these rebel government MPs have fully occupied their positions as heads of GLCs, the good old days will then return to haunt nation, based on what had happened previously for more than 60 years until 2018 then. Corruption, power abuse, mismanagement, lack of accountability, incompetence and transparency are set to return anytime once the plundering begins.

Prior to making such decision, we wonder if the prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin has ever think it all over again on what will possibly happen if he were to give a go ahead for all his MPs to be appointed as heads of GLCs. Why hasn’t anyone within his inner circle inform or remind him of the past misdeeds and plundering carried out by Umno and BN which caused our nation billions of Ringgit and our nation was nearly plunge into bankruptcy?

Or did Muhyiddin simply choose to totally ignore all those concerns just because he wanted to secure the support of the MPs from Umno and PAS to ensure his survival as prime minister? In other words, does this mean, he merely wants to be a prime minister until the end of this term? He merely wanted a title in his profile that he “was a prime minister”?

Yes, he reasoned that Bersatu rebelled Pakatan Harapan (PH) two months ago is to ensure his party’s survival come next general elections, but whatever he does today does not seem to represent his given reasons.

He clearly embraced those who had once plundered the entire nation’s coffer in front of his eyes by letting them take charge again. Do his actions today will really ensure the survival of Bersatu come next general election? These questions will be left unanswered till the end of this term and should we press ahead with that, he will merely give a lame excuse, to protect the equities of the Malays and Bumiputras from falling into the hands of infidels, perhaps PAS will also help him to give an answer which is more religious-oriented.

Then whoever question or try to scrutinise their actions and decisions, these critics will definitely be accused of trying to “undermine the position of Malays, Bumiputras and Islam” in this nation.

The process of termination of these incumbent GLC heads are ongoing, and it will follow by new appointments for the next few weeks to fill in the vacancies, where you will start seeing massive congratulatory message being published by their supporters and cronies to all these new appointees.
