Foreign investments declining?

The BN-Umno led federal government had recently reported that the foreign investments to our country is declining the report is definitely disturbing to all of us, especially the working class people.

So, what are the measures being taken by the federal government to arrest the decline of investments into our country? Creating more political turmoil and engineering more coup d’etats against the Pakatan-led state governments?

We supposed the BN-Umno is still in denial mode and it is widely known that its leaders ad refuse to accept defeat in the last general elections and instead put the blame on the rising influence of the information technology era which came too fast.

Because of the current political uncertainties created by BN-Umno themselves, it really cast a very serious doubt on whether our country can even achieve a 3 percent growth frtom 2009 to 2010 and our overall chances of ever achieving a developed nation’s position by the year 2020. The problem is can we really achieve the Wawasan 2020?

Our people are now demanding more open and transparency on how policies are implemented and the foreign investors are surely moving away from us to nations whereby laws and policies are not subject to what is like in Malaysia or should we say the hanky panky ones.

The measures which are recently announced by the prime minister appeared to be a mere cosmetic change on the top as the conservative and chronic policies are seems to be still in place after 40 years.

The GDP of our nation to-date is still nowhere near to that of a developed nation. We cannot deny that there has been some growth but the costs are also increasing skyrocketing which caused more suffering and hardships to our people.

Not only the foreign investors are shying away from our country for elsewhere which is better but our local businesses too are setting up foreign operations and manufacturing to evade the racist NEP.

We strongly believe that it is not realistic for us to achieve our developed nation status by the year 2020, but only if the federal government make drastic policy changes or if Malaysians can change their government in the 13th general elections to come.
