TV host given a warning over her professionalism

It is disgusting to hear that the ntv7 host for the Point of View program Florence Looi was given a warning letter by her employer because she gave sufficient space for two of her guest to air their view on Najib’s first 100 days in office as prime minister.

First of all, is this wrong? Or what wrong did Florence do? Actually Florence did not commit any wrong at all. She was merely acting within her professionalism as a journalist and publisher of the program.

The wrong thing here is the scenario. Ntv7 is currently owned by Media Prima Berhad, a media giant which is closely connected and linked to Umno and its BN coalition federal government. Umno and BN wanted to curb public dissatisfaction over its policies and governance. They did not want to hear the views and criticisms of our people with open heart and accept them constructively and sportingly.

And just because we have no rooms to air our views freely in the traditional mainstream medias and newspapers, blogs and internet sides are mushrooming all over and since then had became the most popular channel for people to put their say and views for others to know, wanting to discuss and to be part of the nation building.

Our people now are getting more matured in politics and current affairs of our nation because they love their country and they wanted to defend it from some politicians who are out there to destroy it for the sake of their own benefits and wealth.

Therefore, if blogs are developing rapidly, Umno and BN cannot put all the blame on our people for wanting to destabilize the entire nation. It was you who had started all these from the beginning. Umno and BN did not want to hear the views and criticisms of our people. You censored whatever negative views and comments which are deemed unsuitable to be heard by others. You are hiding your head under the sand hoping that our people will not see all your misdeeds and corruption.

If our people are too extreme in wanting truth and justice to prevail, you send them to lock ups and ISA detention center in Kamunting. In fact democracy is already long dead in this country just because of your continuous denial mode.

For Umno and BN to change from within, it would be impossible. Even if they did not want to change but merely did some re-branding, we could see it even this they had failed.

Therefore, change will never come into Umno and BN’s picture even if they had promised to do so. They had being resisting it right from the beginning.
