Improve laws on drink driving instead of going after liquors.
Politicians seeking to enact laws to ban liquors or any alchoholic drinks are not thinking twice before they open their mouths to say such things. Think carefully on what the consequences will be when you say something that others will brand you stupid or idiot.
Just like some politicians who claimed to be so pious by putting blames on women when it comes to increasing rapes that took place. Blaming women for their dress, not covering up or whatsoever caused men to continue raping women. This is indeed words came from fools or idiots.
By banning liquors, but not designing hasher punishments onto those who abuse it is not a solution. The liquors did not ask anyone to "drink them" or "to use them". It was men who wanted enjoyment or leisure by seeking liquors for drinking, not those bottlers who lure men to take up the drinking.
Those religiously aclaimed politicians, please think rationally and practically. If you want to ban liquor, call for the ban on ketum as well. Why are you all so quiet when it comes to many of your boys are drinking ketum and ended up raping young girls in the kampungs? So, do not talk through your nose.
Humans are abusing a lots of things, misusing facilities mean for light use or moderate consumption. Najib Razak abuse public funds for his personal interests. So, are you going to ask the government to enact laws to ban money? It Najib Razak and Zahid Hamidi who abuse these funds, and it was them who ought to receive harsher sentences instead of continue letting them enjoying the leisures they gained from all the monies they stole or swindled. The money was not at fault, it was Najib and Zahid who were at fault.
Asides from harsher penalties against drink driving, the government should also use other channels to educate the public on the negative elements of such habits or practice, say starting these education from young, educating these generations of the bad effects should they were to take on this habits. Lessons to reduce these negative habits should not only come with heavier punishments but educating the public and other preventive measures must also take its course. Prevention is better than cure.
So, when we want to develop policies or enact laws to convince people to adapt or learn from it, do it practically instead of emotionally, look at the doings of the men instead of targeting the thing, because those things will not make effect unless men does it.
This is the way policies or laws should be reviewed or enhanced. By being "overly religious", you will think stupidly and being impractical.
