Nasharudin: PAS straying from Islam

Former PAS deputy president Nasharudin Mat Isa claims that his party is straying from Islamic principles for political expediency.

He also claimed those outside PAS perceive the party is loosening up on certain issues and principles, calling it dangerous.

So, we would like to forward this question to Nasharudin, is he labeling the current PAS leadership as moderate, reformist secular or liberal Islam since he claimed that the party is straying and loosening away from Islam?

If it is so, then what does Nasharudin regard himself as? Preferably as radical Islam, true Islam or a conservative Islam?

Let us give some sort of basic advise to Nasharudin. We know that we are not fit or qualify enough to preach Nasharudin on the religion that he currently professes and is expert in, but we knew the basics which are written and mentioned in the Quran too.

As mentioned in the Quran, Islam is truly a beautiful practice if the later is being practiced as per the holy book says. Islam in practical is a way of life practically to guide the practitioner in his or her daily life, the goodness and the benefits of good acts in the end.

In this case, who is swaying from Islam? PAS or Nasharudin? If this is on PAS, no other parties should be brought into attention and be blamed for PAS' roles in the current Pakatan Rakyat opposition coalition.

If Nasharudin is favouring the PAS-Umno unity, can you tell us is Umno practicing true Islamic values? Is the Umno's so-called ketuanan subject part of Islam? Is Umno's threat to kill and create bloodshed in the entire Kuala Lumpur city and to burn down non-Malay establishments part of Islam? And finally, is Umno's racism allowed and is it also part of Islam?

Does Islam allow ethnic cleansing as being encouraged by Umno? Nasharudin, please explain your facts on why do you favour a PAS-Umno unity when you knew that whatever Umno seeks are all unIslamic.

Then, what is Islam practically in your books instead? Is it really on Islam or just another political circumstances of yours.

Please, confuse us no more!

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Singapore Malay daily teaches Mahathir about hardwork

The former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assumption that Malays in Singapore had failed and their neighbouring Malays should take lesson from their plight has not impressed a Singaporean daily. The republic's Malay daily Berita Harian in an editorial said Malay-Muslims in the republic state were successful and it was a result of their real efforts and hard work in line with the values of meritocracy, not a result of being spoon-fed. “We do not believe in being spoon-fed or being too dependent on the government - in other words, we do not have a crutch mentality,' wrote editor Guntor Sadali.
