Defense corruption will undermine nation's security

One after another corruption were reported in various dealings, procurement and contracts involving the purchase and installation of our nation's military equipment, spare parts, armament and facilities.

The total sum which has been wasted has been by now rise to about RM2.5 trillion in public funds and not only the public money has been trashed just like that, the security and safety of our nation is also currently at the highest risk.

What if just because of these corruptions in the defense dealings, procurement and contracts, our military equipment, aircraft, warships, amour vehicles would become malfunction and run out of spare parts, rising costs of maintenance and in the end all these would end up as scrap metals in the scrap yards.

And what if the enemy decides to attack or to invade our nation one day? Can we expect our army, navy and air force to fight our enemies with their bare hands or with only a handful of light weapons? It is just like sending them straight to hell!

Look at the expensive commissions being paid out for the purchase of a few second-hand hard to dive submarines, PSC's poorly constructed naval ships and patrol boats, insufficient spare parts and other supplies for the previously acquired MIG fighter jets, the missing jet engines, poorly maintained machine-guns, rifles and other weaponry systems which is deemed important in the defense of our nation.

For this kind of corruption, it should be treated as treason or should we say "derhaka" which is far more worst than you say something or criticizing the king or sultans.

And where did all these kind of corruptions originated from? Yes, it is from Umno, then who is the defense minister, it is the self-proclaimed "Dr" Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is he then? He is the vice-president of Umno. Who is the former defense minister then? Well, it is certainly our current prime minister and Umno president Datuk Najib Razak. Why are they not being probed for all those defense corruptions.

Because they are all being protected by Article 153 of the Federal Constitution. That is why, not only these two but also the rest are the untouchables.

And if we continue to let all these Umno goons to continue playing around with our defense and military dealings, our entire nation would soon be invaded, our people would be colonized and enslaved once again.

So, is Umno really defending or championing for the Malays? Think about it.

EC should ask ROS to register Pakatan quickly

The Election Commission (EC) had recently advised the current opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat comprising PAS, PKR and DAP, to register their coalition so that they could use their logo in the coming general election. EC deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar said the coalition should be registered because the opposition parties were always seen violating regulations of the election campaign, especially on the use of their logo. Datuk Wan Ahmad seems to be overly ignorant and too forgetful on this issue. The EC deputy chairman should ask the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to quickly register the Pakatan instead of calling on Pakatan to register itself. Pakatan Rakyat had earlier send in their formal application to register itself as a coalition of political parties since November 2009 and ROS has yet to register the said entity till today after delaying and creating so many hassles for more than a year. USM fiasco a shame

I read and heard with irritation and felt disgusted with the fiasco committed by the apex status university called Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) which caused untold anguish to the affected students and their parents. If this happened in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor would have done the honourable thing - take full responsibilty and leave, but here in Malaysia, as expected, the blame is shifted here and there, trying to make someone a scapegoat. By the way, would there be any racist or sabotage elements involved? Those who are responsible for this fiasco should be sacked or expelled immediately.

Singapore Malay daily teaches Mahathir about hardwork

The former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assumption that Malays in Singapore had failed and their neighbouring Malays should take lesson from their plight has not impressed a Singaporean daily. The republic's Malay daily Berita Harian in an editorial said Malay-Muslims in the republic state were successful and it was a result of their real efforts and hard work in line with the values of meritocracy, not a result of being spoon-fed. “We do not believe in being spoon-fed or being too dependent on the government - in other words, we do not have a crutch mentality,' wrote editor Guntor Sadali.
