Victims of crimes being arrested instead

Did you realize that victims of crimes were being arrested here? Why? Because they held the truth firmly in their hands and hearts.

Selangor State Executive Councillor Teresa Kok was arrested and detained under the ISA after she lodged a police report against former state Umno chief Dr Mohd Khir Toyo who accused her of instigating non-Muslims to demonstrate against the loud azans of a mosque in her constituency. The bilal of the mosque had later came out in her defense, clearly denying that she had ever involve in an attempt demonstration against the loud azan of the mosque. The police did not take Dr Khir Toyo into custody because he is closely associated to the then home affairs minister Syed Hamid Albar.

The then Bukit Bendera Umno division chairman Ahmad Ismail made a seditious speech during a by-election campaign in Permatang Pauh, Butterworth by calling the Malaysian Chinese as "pendatang" and mere temporary residents of Malaysia. Sin Chew reporter Tan Hoon Cheng, together with some of her counterparts attended the Ahmad's ceramah and reported the incident in their newspapers on the next day. Hoon Cheng was then arrested and detained under the ISA after Penang Umno liaison secretary Azhar Ibrahim publicly threatened to shot her at point blank with a gun for reporting Ahmad's seditious remarks in the newspaper.

Then recently, Teoh Lee Lan the younger sister of Teoh Beng Hock who was found murdered in the Selangor MACC headquarters was arrested in Galas, Gua Musang together with her brother-in-law during her public awareness campaign after she, her relatives and friends were assaulted by MCA militiamen. The police took Lee Lan and her brother-in-law into custody after they lodged a police report against the MCA militiamen for assaulting them.

Here, we could clearly see that the victims the crime were arrested, while the criminals are still free out there to harass anyone they like. Where is justice then? These three ladies were victims of crimes and they were all being arrested or detained instead. What about those real criminals? They are being protected because they are members of a very powerful political party?

One of my friends did told me about if an event happen like, if he is being assaulted or being robbed and he lodge a police report, will he be arrested instead? Funny question isn't it? But it is happening here in Malaysia and it is going to happen again.
