The DPM is playing politics in Kedah floods

Deputy prime minister and Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has called on the Kedah PAS state government not to ignore the plight of flood victims, saying the state should also be responsible in providing assistance.

It looks like Muhyiddin is trying to make some political gains out of the floods issue which is currently worsening in Kedah and the other northern states.

Instead of assisting the Kedah state government in handling the flood relief and resolve the complex situation there, Muhyiddin and Umno is making things worst by telling the people of Kedah to "rise" against the state government, blaming the PAS for not doing much to help the people and being "overly" depending on the federal government.

The Umno deputy president is trying to push all the blame of the worsening flood situation on the state government and then pay a visit to the state to act like a "hero" to the people. No way the people is going to succumb to your lies and political plays.

If you are sincere enough to help the people there, then shut up and send in the help and all the financial assistance instead of withholding them until the last minute, when you hear the people cry for help (then you want to come out like a hero?).

Muhyiddin is in fact trying to popularize himself by bastardizing the people of Kedah. Now let us look at the actual facts which caused all those worsening floods and chaos.

The Alor Star MP and MCA vice-president Datuk Chor Chee Heung had in fact admitted that the cause of the worsening flood in Kedah was in fact due to the north-south railway double tracking project undertaken by the Transport Ministry of which MCA secretary-general Datuk Kong Cho Ha is the minister-in-charge. Datuk Kong had then confirmed the complaints made by Datuk Chor.

That means, Muhyiddin is not acknowledging that the floods in Kedah was caused by the project undertaken by the Umno-led BN federal government. His blame on the Kedah PAS-led state government on the current situation is purely political motivated, aimed at instigating the frustrating flood victims to rise and revolt against the state administration.

So, where are MCA's Datuk Chor and Datuk Kong when Muhyiddin is making such an unjust accusations against the Kedah state government? Aren't they going to repeat what they had earlier said and acknowledged - the real cause of the floods in the state.

If MCA is really talking about justice, why are they keeping quiet now and not hitting back at the Umno president for making a baseless accusations on this matter? Remember, justice is about revealing the truth even if by means hurting your coalition partner and defending your political foes.

If the MCA leaders does not really understand about justice, then do not talk about it. And if you are saying you know justice, why are you still remaining in the Umno-dominated BN coalition?
