Keng Yaik resigns as Gerakan advisor

Former Gerakan president Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik today announced his resignation as the party advisor and immediately attacked his successor party president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon for his weak leadership as well as his failure to resolve the leadership crisis in the Penang Gerakan.

Besides, Dr Lim also said that Dr Koh as Gerakan president had always avoid conflict resolution and instead choose to be a good man for all sides, therefore failed to tackle the conflicts arise which had by now being transpired into an open revolt.

We wish to informed Dr Lim that Dr Koh is his chosen successor and should take the partial blame for the failure of the present Gerakan leadership and the party's dismayed performance in the last general election which also saw the party losing its power base to the Pakatan Rakyat.

During the intense factional rivalry in Penang Gerakan few years ago, Dr Lim as the then party president had choose to side Dr Koh for the state chairmanship instead of the much stronger and tougher Datuk Seri Dr Goh Cheng Teik who was then party vice-president. Out of frustration, Dr Goh then left Gerakan and had since never join any political party.

In Dr Koh's reign in Gerakan, we also saw many prominent party leaders leaving the party one by one. This signifies his weak and ineffective leadership as well as his inability to rebuild the party into what it was before.

This had resulted to growing frustrations within its rank especially in Penang Gerakan where its members had by now held an open revolt against its state party chairman Dr Teng Hock Nan, a Dr Koh's loyalist. Besides, it was also reported that many party members nationwide had also voice their frustration on Dr Koh over his weak leadership and indecisiveness in the party.

The extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of Penang Gerakan on the coming 10 October is expected to serve as the foundation for more revolt in the rest of the state Gerakan leaderships. Members are also expected to make their revolt known once the outcome in Penang is confirmed.

Source from within Gerakan had also mentioned that the Selangor party leadership is also expected to face the revolt, which is to be followed by Perak and Johor, depending on the results in the coming Penang Gerakan EGM.

Well, these are all Dr Lim Keng Yaik's own doing. You had made and created these leaders to sit on all these positions, and now you are complaining so much. You should realize that you had made wrong decisions earlier in picking all these ineffective leaders and conservative leaders.
