Religion Cannot Be Part of The State
Does everyone know what religion and
what is the function of the religion?
Religion is the way of life that
should enable each individual to attain the highest possible development in his
spiritual, moral, physical and intellectual faculties.
The function of every religion is to
establish and to maintain the most harmonious relationship between men and his
Creator on the one hand and between men to men in all aspects of their
relationship on the other.
But if a religion is often
misinterpreted, misused and corruptly abused by some quarters of men who are in
power, like the ruling elites, powerful politicians and made part of the
government’s day to day rule and enforcement in order to control and subdue the
citizens as well as other religions, then the religion of that state has become
what Karl Marx, a renowned German philosopher and founder of the revolutionary
communism, had defined the term as “the opiate of the people”.
So, this particular religion of the
state has eventually become “an opiate of the people”. This particular religion
of the state often comforts people and often tells them what they want to hear.
There is a reason behind life, there are some higher and powerful who are in
charge, there is hell after death if one defies and does not obey. It very
often gives people fear but sometimes comforts people with hope and asked them
not to be afraid. Thus, it is like an opiate, a drug which reduces pain, in
that, it satisfies and placates the people entirely.
That is exactly what is happening
right here in our country called Malaysia, the country alleged to be
multiracial and multi religious in nature but in the end, the corrupt regime
and the ruling elites has been using that particular religion of the state of
“theirs” to threaten our Malaysians.
This particular religion of the
state, allegedly sanctioned by their “rulers” from the divine world uses their
powers to abuse our people, ambushed and raided the places of worship of other
faiths, impose unjust rules, orders, restrictions and punishments onto the
other faiths and prevent our people from developing spiritually as well as to
follow the other religions.
Asides, the ruling elites currently
sitting in Perang Besar also uses the particular religion of the state, also
allegedly sanctioned by their “rulers” to abuse the public funds, create public
unrests, through their NGOs, inciting and instigating hatred against citizens
of other ethnics and faiths, instilling fear onto their minds so as to prevent them
to resist such unjust religious policies and governance, so that these ruling
elites would continue to rule this country for as long as they wish.
As such, this particular religion of
the state has deviated from the real and actual teachings laid down by the
founder and prophet of that religion. It has become some sort of group of
terror who as nothing to do with the said religion, which they are claiming as
“theirs”.
This particular religion of the
state has indeed became the greatest enemy and threat to the said religion
itself, having completely went against the original teachings which emphasized
on the way of life in terms of spiritual, moral, physical and intellectual as
well as the peaceful co-existence. Straight forwardly, it has become an act of
stupidity and cowardice entirely.
So, this is the religion which has
been part of the state, governance and politics all this while. It has become
the most politicized and victimized religion after all. It has been made a very
powerful tool by the ruling elites in order to rule conveniently, to subdue our
people to ensure no opposition, no questions, to instill hatred, disunity and
to divide and rule.
That particular religion of the
state has therefore, lost its purities, spiritualty, wisdom and become uncommon
sense in whatever it dictates every day.
It has been very clear that the
people’s morality and behavior aspects who has been guided by this particular
religion of the state since birth has decayed in vast numbers nationwide,
involving in all kinds of crimes, dealing in drugs, carrying out power abuse,
endured in to corruptions, act of terror and some had also made their name
globally through their involvement in international terrorism.
What has become of this particular
religion of the state? Since it became part of the state, governance and
politics it has since ceased to be a real religion effectively.
A reminder on how we should respect
the religion that we profess and not use the religion for our self-interest or
personal agendas. We should respect the religion that we profess, use the
teachings as guidance to our way of life and to develop further understanding,
wisdom and enlightenment on how men were created and developed, thus improving
ourselves continuously without fail.
A religion which has been part of
the state of affairs, be it the government or politics is therefore not a
religion itself anymore. Real religions
should be in our people’s heart, faith, in person, practically carry out in the
households and places of worship with flexibility, conveniently in accordance
to our people’s ability and wisdom.
