A Love Story, The Communists and The Liars
The controversial pre-Independence movie named “The
New Village” said to be a communist-inspired film by some in the Umno, the
Umno-linked extremist groups, particularly in Perkasa, is just a love story
happened around during the time of the emergency rule prior to our nation’s
independence.
Then, what was the reason behind all those big fuss
been blown up by Umno, Perkasa and some other extremist groups around
nationwide? Their reasons are simple, it was merely for their political gains
and nothing else. The fuss was being made because of political revenge. There’s
nothing in defending the Malays or Islam at all.
Recently, the home ministry had deliberately suspended
the movie’s release when it was originally scheduled to be launched in cinemas
nationwide. Apart from those far-right extremists making the fuss over the
movie, a Malay language weekly Mingguan Malaysia also accused the film
producers of glorifying communism in the movie.
“The New Village” movie was given a go-ahead by the
home ministry’s very own Film Censor Board (LPF) on September 2012 under a P13
classification with no cuts at all. However, because of an outcry which is
unproven, made by some who didn’t even watch and understand the movie in detail,
the movie’s approval has to be withdrawn in order to satisfy the lusts of such
extreme racists and inaccurate news reports.
Can those who made all those wild accusations come
forward to provide some evidence that link the movie to communism, showing which
part of the movie that glorifies communism or maybe the producers themselves
may be communists as well? Prove them out with your details and justifications.
However, until today, those who called for the ban of
this movie has yet to come forward to show their evidence that there are
communist elements in the film. They had now chickened out on this issue and
passed the buck back to the home ministry and the LPF who are currently in
search of those alleged communist elements on their own.
So, how about the fact that the Barisan Nasional (BN)
Youth movement as well as the Umno Youth having established close ties and
working relationships with the Chinese Communist Youth League (CYL)? What about
Umno’s political connection with the Communist Party of China (CPC) as well?
Can any of the BN or Umno leaders explain the contents of their relationships
with the CYL and CPC?
Why didn’t any Umno leaders, Perkasa or the other
Umno-linked NGOs as well as Mingguan Malaysia complain about BN and Umno’s
official ties with the Communists in China? The CPC is currently the ruling
party in China and the CYL is the CPC’s youth wing.
And guess what? Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin was quick to respond that
the CPC was not the same as the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM). Just exactly
what does he mean by CPC being not similar in nature to that of the CPM?
It seems Khairy does not really know the actual
history on the relations between the CPM and the CPC. Is the Umno youth chief
aware that it was the CPC who has been funding, training and providing arms to
the CPM during the Malayan Emergency period? Did he also know that the CPM
chairman Musa Ahmad and the party secretary-general Chin Peng (Ong Boon Hua)
were the guest (fraternal parties worldwide) of the CPC under the care of its
International Liaison Department (ILD) for so many years?
Did Khairy, who is also the BN Youth chief knows where
does the CPM look to in terms of ideological training and the guerilla warfare
tactics? It was the CPC and its ILD who had provided CPM with all these
necessary trainings and guidance. Otherwise, the CPM may not have survived for
so many years.
Well, if Khairy, Umno or whoever their supporters or
their sponsored NGOs are, were to pretend that they are unaware of the CPC-CPM
relationship, it is because they have been part of the political play here in
order to stay in power for the rest of their lives.
