MACC's double standard policies and a great pretender, Umno's financial terrorism exposed

From MACC's massive targetting of Selangor state executive councillors, state assemblymen right to the cause of death onto DAP's Teoh Beng Hock, till today, what did MACC get and are there any results? Till now, no one from the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat state government has been proven of any corruption or any wrongdoings as alleged by some Umno leaders.

The facts are simply very clear, MACC acted on rumours put up my Umno leaders who were going all out to cover all their original dirty works of their previous administration. That is why we could see and observe how the MACC acted. They were either being blinded or turned their eyes away from the happennings before 8 March 2008.

What happenned before 8 March 2008? Well, prior to the general elections then, the district offices in various parts of Selangor had approved billions of Ringgit of funds for Umno state assemblymen to cover the expenditures for the entire year of 2008 in just two months.

And these are all clearly blantant abuse of power. Why? Simple! The parliament and state assemblies were dissolved on 13 February 2008 to pave way for the general elections on 8 March 2008. Why are all these former members of the state assembly allowed to take and swindle away the funds of the constituencies for the whole year of 2008 in just two months?

Reports from the hearings of the Selangor Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) recently accounted that these officers at the district offices were acting merely on instructions from these errant Umno state assemblymen.

The Selcat hearings also highlighted the mighty powers of these Umno state assemblymen had in ordering the civil servants of the district offices around on the pretext of their "Saya yang menurut perintah" oath as a subservient civil servant.

Do you know how our civil servants are supposed to perform? Our civil servants are supposed to be apolitical and independent when performing their duties and responsibilities but with their confessions at the hearings, it shows that they did not abide by the civil service rules, regulations, guidelines when discharging their duties.

These civil officers acted like they were the political aides of these Umno state assemblymen. They had forgotten that they are civil servants who must stay neutral at all times of their duties and responsibilities.

Here are some examples and findings of those approved funds to the state constituencies after the disolution of the state assemblies and parliament on 13 February 2008.

1) 90 applications worth RM496,500 from the then Batu Caves state assemblyman;
2) 103 applications worth RM393,340 from the then Gombak Setia state assemblyman;
3) 225 applications worth RM500,700 from the then Hulu Kelang state assemblyman;
4) 149 applications worth RM496,000 from the then Kuang state assemblyman;
5) 86 applications worth RM500,000 from the then Taman Templer state assemblyman;
6) 235 applications worth RM603,190 from the then Rawang state assemblyman.

All these funds applications applied by the then Umno state assemblymen were approved without proper checks and balances being carried out to ensure these public funds (our people's hard earned monies) are not being misused by those who have intentions to swindle for their personal political purposes.

So, is MACC going to continue to be blindfolded or turn a blind eye on all these blantant financial terrorism carried out by Umno? If then, MACC would be a laughing stock and a great pretender in combating corruptions and power abuses.

The "rakyat" knows better who were the real corrupted ones and those who are clean. From Selangor, we look at Perak at the present situation. Why did the Perak Umno rebel state government refused to dissolve the state legislative assembly to pave way for a fresh state election?

If the state election is to be held, Pakatan would certainly regain the state government from Umno (who launched a coup d'etat to toppled the Pakatan state government on early February) and if Pakatan were to regain control of Perak via fresh mandate, they will certainly open up and conduct massive investigations onto the misuse of state constituencies' funds happenned a month before the 8 March 2008 general elections, which may also see Umno state assemblymen being exposed of their wrongdoings like their counterparts in Selangor.

That is why the Perak Umno rebel state government of Dr Zambry Abd Kadir choose to remain defiant and went against the will of our people, so that they could continue to cover or even destroy all the evidence of their previous corrupt and power abuse activities.

And this is what Umno is going to do in Selangor. To engineer another coup to overthrow the state government, retake the state administration at all cost and erase all their blantant and corrupt activities and records.

MACC, what are you going to say and do about all these?
