Dr M: Umno has not learnt from mistakes

The Malaysian Insider reports - Umno is showing the world that its members have not learnt their lesson by continuing to insist on nominating Tan Sri Isa Samad to stand in the upcoming Bagan Pinang by-election, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today. The former prime minister has been a vocal critic of the nomination of the former Negri Sembilan mentri besar who was punished with a three-year suspension after the party’s disciplinary board found him guilty of vote buying during the Umno elections in 2004. "We haven’t learnt much, the last time we put a candidate who was a liar, who was barred by the bar council, who used his clients money. If we put a candidate like that, surely we will lose, “ Dr Mahathir said. Dr Mahathir was speaking in reference to the Permatang Pasir by-election where disbarred lawyer Rohaizat Othman lost to PAS's Mohd Salleh Man by 4,551 votes. Dr Mahathir was right in his statement on Umno and its buddies in the BN. But doesn't he realise that it was al...

Why want to disband Selcat ?

We heard cries of embarassment from some civil servants and some even making a personal appeal to Pakatan Rakyat politicians calling for the review on the position or disband the highly respected Selangor Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) following its hearings which were said to had embarassed and shamed some of the senior civil servants who were involved in the Umno state assemblymen's annual fundings prior to the 8 March 2008 general elections last year. Why want to disband Selcat first of all ? Selcat had did and they are now still doing a greatest job on Malaysian earth where nobody dare does it ? But Selcat does it to expose the corruption, power abuses, cronyism and the great pretenders who once rule the Selangor state with an iron fist. According to those senior civil servants who said to had felt embarassed following the Selcat hearing, it is their day which had came. If they were to reject all these wrongdoings and did not collaborat...

MACC's double standard policies and a great pretender, Umno's financial terrorism exposed

From MACC's massive targetting of Selangor state executive councillors, state assemblymen right to the cause of death onto DAP's Teoh Beng Hock, till today, what did MACC get and are there any results? Till now, no one from the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat state government has been proven of any corruption or any wrongdoings as alleged by some Umno leaders. The facts are simply very clear, MACC acted on rumours put up my Umno leaders who were going all out to cover all their original dirty works of their previous administration. That is why we could see and observe how the MACC acted. They were either being blinded or turned their eyes away from the happennings before 8 March 2008. What happenned before 8 March 2008? Well, prior to the general elections then, the district offices in various parts of Selangor had approved billions of Ringgit of funds for Umno state assemblymen to cover the expenditures for the entire year of 2008 in just two months. And these are all clearly blantant...

DO alleges BN men abused state allocations

SHAH ALAM, Sept 8 — A district officer today revealed that Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen under his jurisdiction had misused their state allocations ahead of the March 8 general elections last year. Gombak District Officer Huzaini Samsi, who testified before the special select committee for competency, accountability and transparency (Selcat), also admitted that there was even a "possibility that the annual allocations were used for campaigning”. He admitted it was morally wrong and extraordinary for the state lawmakers and exco members to spend their entire annual allocations in just two months. BN state lawmakers received RM500,000 while state executive councillors received an additional RM100,000. He said normal monthly expenditure only amounts to between RM20,000 and RM50,000 but during the general elections the lawmakers maximise their expenditure. “They try and spend as much as possible before the general elections.” Huzaini, who became the Gombak District Officer in 2007...

'Cow-head' demonstrators to be charged

Twelve people who took part in the cow-head protest on 28 Aug will be charged on 9 September for illegal assembly and incitting hatred against another community. Worried about its increasing unpopularity in the country, the Barisan Nasional federal government had finally decided that these irresponsible "cow head" people should be charged in the court for their hate demo against our fellow Malaysian Indian community. In fact these twelve people should also be detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for incitting hatred against other races. These people are in fact terrorist who are out there to promote hate, hate, hate and nothing else but hate. They had nothing else to do other than to incite hatred onto our people. On those group of demonstrators who had also attended the briefing session at the MBSA recently on the proposed relocation of the controversial Hindu temple, where one of them tried to throw a chair on the Selangor Mentri Besar, why didn't the police a...
