Kayveas, Murugiah yet to explain to ROS. Is ROS at fault too?

Both People’s Progressive Party (PPP) president Datuk M. Kayveas and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk T. Murugiah have yet to give full explanations to the Registrar of Societies so that it can conclude its investigation on the party’s status.

It seems that the two PPP leaders are look into several channels to save their "party" as it has been found that both factions in dispute are at fault.

First, the Kayveas faction had failed to submit their annual returns to the ROS for the past few year back. And if in accordance to the Societies Act, PPP would have been de-registered a long time ago. In this case, the ROS too is at fault as they did not follow up on this issue and go by the procedures until it was exposed by the other faction who is disputing the party leadership. We must also remember that Datuk Kayveas was also fined by the Bar Council under the Legal Professions act earlier for his professional misconduct. In accordance to the law, Kayveas should have been disqualified from holding any positions in a political party or any registered organisations.

Secondly, the Murugiah faction has no stature in the PPP central leadership because Datuk Murugiah himself is only an appointed party supreme council member. Apart from that, his branch's registration with the ROS is also pending which automatically made him unqualify to be a delagate to the party's annual delegates conference. Therefore, how can he get the delegates to elect him as the party president as he is not even a branch delegate?

For the cases of these two men and their respective factions, the ROS is to be blamed as well for their negligence and for failing to perform in accordance to the Act as provided. Or is it just because PPP is a component member of the Barisan Nasional, and that is why they dare not act on them? What if PPP is at the opposition side and the action would be very much different then.
