PDRM is a secular-based security force
In case the inspector-general of police, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Bakar forgot about the status of the police force (PDRM) under his command, we wish to remind him that the police force of our nation is a secular-based organization formed under the Police Act.
Therefore, the role of PDRM is to punish criminals and enforce the law as well as to protect the general public regardless of his race, religion or skin colour.
In the case of a muslim convert who had obtained the custodial right from a Shariah Court last year but only to be overturned by the High Court recently after the Hindu ex-wife S.Deepa filed an application to seek for the return of her child from her ex-husband Izwan Abdullah who has converted to Islam without her knowledge, the police should then enforce the judgment of the law which was issued by the High Court.
According to Tan Sri Khalid, the two court orders (both shariah and civil) clashed and therefore, the police would have to wait for the next court order. This Khalid is talking rubbish and trying to reason out politically. The Shariah Court issued its custodial order last year while the High Court gave its judgment recently. So, did these two court orders clashed? Certainly not.
In this case, the police should follow the most recent court order and start arresting Izwan for kidnapping the child and assaulting the ex-wife. Asides, the police force is a secular institution and therefore, should prioritize the enforcement of the secular laws at large.
Even two former law ministers, Datuk Zaid Ibrahim and Datuk Nazri Aziz are equally agreeing that the police should act against Izwan for contempt of a High Court order and to charge him fir kidnapping as well.
Furthermore, there is also no court in this world that authorize people to use violent means to harm another person, like assaulting and kidnapping. Is Izwan going to tell us that the Shariah Court has given him the orders to assault his wife and kidnap the child?
Did the Shariah court allow Izwan to convert under-aged children? Did the Shariah Court also allow Izwan to convert the children without the knowledge of the mother, Deepa? In this case, this Shariah Court itself is not a religious institution, while Izwan should be the devil and does not profess the religion that he claimed to have taken refuge with.
No religion will ever encourage its followers to commit violence or whatever wrongs in the name of the said religion.
Tan Sri Khalid, do not allow the rule of the jungle to prevail in our nation. Please, for the sake of human kind, do your job properly or if you cannot do it, just resign and let others do.
